MY RADIO SHOWS

Each year, I shine my spotlight on ten of my favorite albums released that year. These are albums for which I have a special fondness. Maybe it's the artist. Maybe it's the songs. Maybe it's something else. My Top Ten list is not intended as a "Best of..." list, though I think all of my picks are excellent. They are some of my favorites, that's all.

Missing from this year's list are three obvious choices: Alison Krauss & Unions Station, Arcadia; Billy Strings, Highway Prayers; and Sierra Hull, A Tip Toe Highwire. I like all three albums very much and could easily have picked all three of them. That said, these artists have "emeritus" status: any time any of them releases an album, it's going to be a favorite, and it doesn't need to take up a slot of my Top Ten list to prove that.
