Down Yonder
"When the roll is called up there, I'll be down yonder."
For almost forty years, KDHX was a gem of a community radio station. Terry Moses and Naomi Soule started The Saturday Morning Bluegrass Show and hosted it for five years. When they left for a paying radio gig, I took over the show in October 1993, renaming it Down Yonder a few years later. I hosted the show until January 30, 2025, when the station ceased operations (long, sad story). A month later, Down Yonder debuted on TheRootsFM.org, a web station in St. Louis, where continues in its 11:00 am Saturday time slot.
During Down Yonder's time on KDHX, I did phone interviews with hundreds of musicians, both national and local. On many occasions, I hosted live performances in our studios. Below you'll find videos of some of those in-studio performances.
